Our main projects

Clean Water Access

Cosmopolitan Rotaract is working to raise awareness about the lack of clean water and sanitation around the world. Clean water is something that many of us in the developed world take for granted, yet 26% of the world’s population does not have safe drinking water. Lack of access to clean water leads to the spread of disease and is one of the main contributors to polio. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) is one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus. Our goal at Cosmopolitan Rotaract is to spread awareness via social media postings, with the future goal of raising funds and taking action, once our club membership grows.

BC SPCA

In February 2023, we did an online fundraiser for the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in British Columbia, Canada. Members of our club asked family members and friends to donate via Facebook or an online donation page. We raised $100 for animal rights in British Columbia.

Spreading Happiness

In late 2022, our members created “happiness cards” which we leave in public places (eg; on the bus, at a coffee shop) with the goal of spreading joy. The cards serve the dual purpose of bringing a smile to a stranger’s face and of promoting our club.
